Dr. Seidel, a prominent specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, has a long and distinguished list of credentials. Dr. Seidel was raised on a dairy farm in upstate New York, graduated from Cornell University with Distinction and High Honors, and was awarded his Doctorate of Medicine at the School of Medicine of State University of New York.
Dr. Seidel was awarded Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 1994 and has been a Diplomate and Fellow the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 1991.
Dr. Seidel achieved a second Board Certification from the American Academy of Neuromuscular Medicine in 1994. In 1996, Dr. Seidel became a Diplomate of the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Seidel is a Clinical Associate Professor at Wayne State University and Michigan State University in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He participates regularly in the training of medical specialists and has published a number of medical articles.
Dr. Seidel is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Michigan Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation , Macomb County Medical Society, Michigan Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
In 1993, Dr. Seidel moved to Michigan to begin his rapidly growing career and now considers himself a loyal and true Michiganian. Dr. Seidel’s wife is also a physician and the two of them have been blessed with 5 children and both parents are active spouses and very much hands-on parents. An avid bicyclist, squash player, and home handyman, Dr. Seidel is as accomplished out of the office as he has been within it.
Dr. Seidel states, “My focus is to obtain a thorough history, perform a comprehensive physical examination and critically review all prior diagnostic testing to verify that no diagnosable medical condition has been missed. My approach is to diagnose and treat people for their specific problem with appropriate medications, therapy, and other interventions. I use electrodiagnostic medicine as an extension of the evaluation process to establish causation of symptoms, treatment approaches, and facilitate the patient care decisions.”
